Privacy Policy
YogaVani ("the app," "we," "us") is built by Sampath Inturi as an offline, single-user fitness companion for iPhone. This policy explains exactly what data the app touches and why.
The short version
- YogaVani does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.
- YogaVani does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- YogaVani does not require an account, sign-in, or internet connection.
- All data lives on your device — either in the app itself, or in Apple Health (controlled by you).
Apple Health (HealthKit)
If you grant permission, YogaVani reads and writes a small set of data through Apple Health:
Read: body weight, biological sex, date of birth, heart rate, respiratory rate, active energy, walking + running distance, workout history. These are used only to personalize calorie estimates and tailor workout intensity to your profile.
Write: workout sessions you complete in the app, including type (yoga, pranayama, meditation, strength, etc.), duration, active energy, and respiratory rate where applicable.
Apple Health data is stored on your device by iOS, encrypted at rest, and never transmitted by YogaVani. You can revoke any permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → YogaVani, or by tapping Manage Health Permissions inside YogaVani's Settings.
Data stored inside YogaVani
YogaVani keeps a local exercise history (date, type, duration of each session) using SwiftData. This stays on your device and is not synced to iCloud or any other server. You can delete all of it at once from Settings → Privacy → Delete Exercise History.
App preferences (dark mode, accent color) are stored in iOS UserDefaults, on-device only.
Network usage
YogaVani makes no network requests. It does not contact our servers, third-party servers, or analytics endpoints. The app works entirely offline.
Children's privacy
YogaVani is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children under 13. Because YogaVani collects no personal data of any kind, it complies with COPPA and similar regulations by design.
International users
Because YogaVani does not transmit data, no cross-border data transfer occurs. GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, and similar regulations are addressed by the simple fact that YogaVani has no data to disclose, sell, or hand over.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of YogaVani begins to collect any data, this page will be updated and version 2.0 (or whichever version introduces the change) will be subject to a fresh App Store review with an updated Data Safety questionnaire. Material changes will also be announced in the app's release notes.
